Yadadri-Bhongir: District Collector Pamela Satpathy on Tuesday said parents should encourage children to take up games and sports that would keep them physically and mentally fit.

Flagging off the Fit India Freedom Run 2 from Government Junior College to Bhongir Fort as part of Azaadi Ka Amrut Utsav, she said parents must discourage their children from playing video games. She asked the parents to encourage the children to participate in games and sports that would also help them in their career in future. “Development of the country is possible only if their is a healthy society. Physical fitness also helps people keep away diseases,” she said.

District Youth Officer K Dhananjeyulu said that ‘health’ has become a major concern of the world in the pandemic time. Cleanliness and following healthy lifestyle helps people lead a healthy life, he said.

About 200 students participated in the run by carrying 200 meters long national flag.
As a part of special heritage tour, 100 children, who lost parents due to COVID-19 were also visited Bhongir Fort and rock climbing school.

Bhongir Municipal Chairman Anjaneyulu, Additional District Collector Deepak Towari and others were also participated in the programme.
