Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy on Wednesday said that Telangana Diagnostic Centres (TDC) set up in Government district hospitals, will conduct 57 types of diagnostic tests to the people at free of cost.

Inaugurating the TDC in the district government hospital at Nalgonda, Jagdish Reddy said that the blood samples collected from the patients at all government hospitals including Primary Health Centres would get tested in TDC and soft copies of reports would be sent to the doctor and patient. It would bring a significant change in the health care services at rural level by ensuring early detection of the diseases, he added. At the same time, the initiative would also avoid the financial burden on the patients, he said.

He stated that latest and sophisticated medical equipment, which would be useful for early detection of cancer and heart diseases, would also be provided to Telangana Diagnostic Centres.

He said that the Cabinet sub-committee on health, which was set up by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, was aimed at providing corporate level medical services to the people in government hospitals at free of cost. He reminded that the State government has spent Rs 10,000 crores for the development of government hospitals. The State government has also launched buses with ICU beds for the benefit of patients during the pandemic.

Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, MLC Narsi Reddy, Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy, Nalgonda Municipal Chairman M Saidi Reddy and others were also present.
