Ex-Maoist leader Malla Raji Reddy visits native village after 46 years
Former Maoist Central Committee member Malla Raji Reddy, who recently surrendered to the police, clarified that he has no intention of contesting elections or forming a political party. He visited his native village Sastrulapalli after 46 years, marking his first return since his surrender.

Peddapalli: Former Maoist Central Committee member Malla Raji Reddy has made it clear that he will neither contest elections nor form a political party.
He said a proposal to take part in public movements and social service had been submitted to the government, which must now decide on the matter. Raji Reddy made these remarks while speaking to journalists in Manthani
After spending many years in the revolutionary movement, he returned to the native village to meet relatives. He said he would consider working legally if permitted by the government.
Raji Reddy, who recently surrendered to the police, visited his native village on Saturday for the first time since his surrender. After meeting local Congress leader Mula Sarojana at her residence in Manthani, he proceeded to his village, Sastrulapalli.
“I am visiting my native place after 46 years. The last visit was one night in January 1999,” he added.
