Hyderabad: A year that screams bold, fun and out right ‘put yourself out there’ ; 2022 is all about making a statement. The fashion scene is no different this year. And, no, staying cooped up at home doesn’t mean you don’t have to play with your wardrobe. We’ve put together a bunch of trends that are going to rock this year no matter what the season.
Back to business
With offices finally opening their doors, corporate dressing is back and we missed it so much. Although, business casuals don’t just have to be confined to meeting rooms. Make way for tailoured pants in rich colours, fluid shirts in silk or crisp shirts that mean boss babe, light weight blazers and baggy button ups. Board room to bar never got easier. Pair them with sneakers or sky high heels.
The Mini comeback
No more shying away from ‘itsy bitsy’. Well fitting mini skirts paired with cutesy tees, flared mini dresses, the sky high hemlines are everywhere. Mini bags that are enough to fit your lip gloss are cool too. Pull out your sarong style skirt cause asymmetrical hems ooze a sophisticated sensuality that’ll meet both your day and night requirements.
Statement shirts
The humble button up is your wardrobe’s most reliable ally. Sculpted sleeves or origami silhouettes where the sleeves are cut off, statement shirts are a classic. Bold prints like paisley, tribal, floral or even graphic cut in fabrics like velvet and silk; this year make sure your shirts are anything but basic. Shrug it on or wear it whole, the choice is yours.
Cult newbies
Introduce a trend or two into an already full wardrobe. Styles that aren’t exactly new, but you wouldn’t usually wear is how to make a shocking yet glamorous entry into the year. Knotted dress in shades of grey, brown, beige and neutral are simple yet chic. Low slung pants that are comfortable, loose yet fancy are a big yes.
Technicolor everywhere
Bold, bright and beautiful, just like Pink Floyd’s music, its time brings in some alternative options into your wardrobe. Add some illuminating after dark dresses in shades of Satsuma, tangerine, cobalt blue, highlight lime and parrot green. There’s nothing like vibrant and colourful to perk you up on a dull day.
