Family members of Saudi Arabia bus accident victims arrive in Jeddah, DNA tests to confirm identities
Family members of victims of the recent Saudi Arabia bus accident arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday. The Telangana Haj Committee facilitated travel. DNA tests will confirm identities before final rites, while a three-member delegation will discuss insurance and compensation with Saudi authorities.

Hyderabad: Family members of the victims of the Saudi Arabia road accident reported early this week have reached Jeddah, Saudi Arabia early on Wednesday.
The Telangana Haj Committee on Tuesday night arranged the travel for 35 persons who are related to the victims of the bus accident along with three officials of the Haj Committee. “Another eight people will leave for Saudi Arabia either today or tomorrow depending upon the availability of the flights,” said Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani Khusro Pasha, Chairman, Telangana Haj Committee told Telangana Today.
After reaching Saudi Arabia, the family member will undergo a DNA test and the sample will be matched with the DNA collected from charred remains of the bodies. After confirming the identity of the victim, the final rites will be performed in Saudi Arabia.
All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen, Nampally MLA Mohd Majid Hussain said that the burial in all likelihood will take place at Jannat al-Baqī, the oldest and first Islamic cemetery of Madina located in the Hejazi region.
The Saudi Arabia government has so far not announced any compensation for the bus accident victims. In regard to the insurance amount to the families, the three member delegation comprising Minister for Minority Welfare Mohd Azharuddin, Principal Secretary Minority Welfare Department, B Shafiullah and Nampally MLA Majid Hussain will hold talks with the authorities in Saudi Arabia and make an announcement.
