Telangana CEO directs BLOs to clear pending SIR cases

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy directed BLOs to personally deliver notices to electors and clear pending SIR-2026 cases on time. He also asked officials to involve BLAs in locating addresses and encourage their participation in the claims and objections process.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy on Monday directed booth-level officers (BLOs) to personally deliver every notice to the elector concerned during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls.

Reviewing notice delivery, hearing schedules and pending cases with district election officials through video conference, he asked BLOs across Telangana to use the additional logins provided to them and clear cases on time, according to a press release.

He directed BLOs to seek assistance from booth-level agents (BLAs) to locate addresses, particularly in urban areas. Officials were told to share lists of unmapped and anomaly cases with political parties during meetings and encourage BLAs to participate actively in the claims and objections period.

BLOs, their supervisors and assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs) must properly upload documents in accordance with Election Commission of India guidelines. Electoral registration officers and AEROs would be held responsible for mistakes made by computer operators under their supervision.

Reddy asked BLO supervisors to visit elderly people and persons with disabilities whose areas were not covered by hearing locations. Help desks have been activated at electoral registration officer and district election officer levels to assist electors, it added.
