Farmer collapses in urea queue in Telangana’s Nalgonda
A 65-year-old farmer collapsed while waiting in a urea queue at Huzurnagar PACS, Nalgonda, and was revived by a police constable. In Vikarabad, another farmer fell at a Sub-Inspector’s feet pleading for fertiliser, highlighting growing unrest over urea shortages
Nalgonda: A 65-year-old farmer collapsed while standing in a queue for urea at Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS) at Huzurnagar town here on Thursday. Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy represents Huzurnagar in the Assembly.
A resident of Govindapuram, Swamy arrived at the PACS after learning that urea stocks had arrived at the centre. Swamy along with other farmers waited for his turn in the queue but suddenly complained of uneasiness and collapsed at the PACS.
Immediately, a police constable, Naresh, who was deployed at the PACS performed CPR and rescued Swamy. Later, the farmer was shifted to a hospital, according to reports.
Farmer falls at the feet of SI
Meanwhile, a farmer fell at the feet of a Sub-Inspector in Vikarabad and pleaded him for urea.
In a video, the farmer is seen falling at the feet of Sub-Inspector in Kulkacharla and pleading him to offer two bags of urea to save his standing crops. The video was circulated widely on social media platforms.
In another part of the district, farmers entered into heated arguments with PACS officials and police for failing to supply sufficient urea. They raised slogans against the Congress government and demanded that sufficient area be supplied to farmers, failing which they would intensify protests.
