Hyderabad: Farmers from Kadthal, stating that the Bidar-Maheswaram 765 KV power lines being laid by Powergrid Corporation were damaging their fields, appealed to Union Minister of Power, Manohar Lal Khattar, to help them out of the crisis and deliver justice.
Led by BRS Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravindra and former MLA Jaipal Yadav, a delegation of farmers met the Union Minister in New Delhi on Monday. They also submitted a representation.
The farmers said that due to the 765 KV Bidar-Maheswaram lines, they were suffering severe losses. An appeal was made to the Union Minister to issue appropriate instructions to the officials and rescue the farmers, said Telangana Sarpanches Sangham president, LN Reddy, and others.
“The Union Minister assured us that he would discuss the issue with Powergrid Corporation officials and ensure that the farmers are not subjected to any inconvenience,” LN Reddy added.
