Farmers place slippers to hold spots in queue for urea in Karimnagar’s Saidapur
In Saidapur mandal, Karimnagar, a severe urea shortage led farmers to adopt an unusual method of queuing, placing their slippers in line to reserve spots at a fertiliser distribution center. The incident highlights ongoing agricultural supply challenges in Telangana during the critical crop season.
Karimnagar: Scarcity of urea has forced farmers in Saidapur mandal to resort to placing slippers in a queue to reserve their spot for fertiliser on Saturday morning.
On learning that 230 bags of urea had arrived at the Vishala Parapathi Cooperative Sangham, farmers rushed to the centre in the early hours and marked their positions in the queue by leaving their slippers.
