Khammam: Telangana School Teachers Federation (STF) state president and JAC vice chairman Devarakonda Saidulu appealed to the government to reduce the burden of preparing reports on government teachers.
The STF leader called on district Collector Anudeep Durishetty here on Tuesday and felicitated him. He said it was commendable that the government has appointed a young IAS officer who has shown great talent at the national level in Civils exams as the Khammam district Collector.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Saidulu said teachers, headmasters were forced to spend more time on submitting reports to higher officials which was wasting valuable time, meant to be used for teaching students.
Activities like taking attendance through facial recognition system (FRS), submitting attendance reports, preparing fundamental learning and numeracy (FLN) reports and others have become extremely time-consuming for the teachers.
In addition to that, one teacher has to be dedicated to monitor mid-day meals, hand-washing and other activities on a daily basis. As a result of which they might not be able to focus on teaching, Saidulu explained.
The government was spending thousands of crores on education and establishing integrated schools. The district authorities and education department officials should be instructed to assist teachers in providing mid-day meals and quality education in government schools, he added.
STF Khammam district president Gandu Yadagiri, secretary Sheikh Mansur and others were present.
