Former MLA Diwakar Rao condemns attack on BRS student leader in Mancherial

Former MLA Nadipelli Diwakar Rao alleged that Congress supporters attacked BRS student leader Daggula Madhu in Mancherial for exposing irregularities. Madhu sustained injuries and is recovering. Rao demanded stern police action and criticized rising political violence in Telangana.

Mancherial: Former MLA Nadipelli Diwakar Rao condemned the assault on the party’s student wing leader Daggula Madhu by suspected activists of the Congress. He along with BRS leader Nadipelli Vijith Rao visited Madhu who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here on Friday.

Diwakar Rao alleged that Mancherial MLA K Premsagar Rao’s prime aide and Naspur municipal chairperson Surimilla Venu, his henchmen and certain goons attacked Madhu for exposing his wrongdoings, at a house on bypass road. He said that the vendetta politics had become a daily affair after the Congress assumed power in Telangana which is known for peace.

The former legislator urged the Telangana Director General of Police Dr Jithender to take stern action against the perpetrators and to take preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in future. He promised to extend all support to Madhu’s family members.

On Thursday night, Madhu, sustained neck injuries when some unidentified persons attacked him with sharp objects. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital with bleeding wounds. His condition is reported to be stable. Police said that no complaint was received till Thursday night.
