Four arrested for cultivating, selling ganja in Adilabad
Adilabad police arrested four persons for cultivating and selling ganja and seized 420 cannabis plants worth Rs. 42 lakh. The accused were allegedly growing the crop on farmland and supplying the substance to lorry drivers travelling on National Highway 44.

Adilabad: Four persons were arrested on charges of cultivating and selling ganja on Tuesday. Police seized 420 cannabis plants from them, valued at Rs. 42 lakh.
Akhil Mahajan, Superintendent of Police of Adilabad district, briefing the media in Adilabad town, said Pawar Madhav from Sonpalli village in Sirikonda mandal, Athram Dattadri and Shaik Arif, both from Echoda mandal centre, and Shaik Muzahid of Indranagar in Adilabad town were apprehended for growing the cannabis crop and peddling ganja to buyers.
Madhav and the three others were detained from Madhav’s farm where he had cultivated the plants. The arrests were made after the police conducted a raid on the field following a tip-off.
During interrogation, Madhav reportedly admitted to cultivating the ganja crop on his nine acres of land at his village to make a fast buck. He had lured the remaining three to consume the substance and forced them to peddle it to drivers of lorries travelling on the National Highway 44 connecting Hyderabad and Nagpur.
Ruthwik Sai Kotte, Additional Superintendent of Police of Utnoor, Bandari Raju, Inspector of Ichoda, and other officials were part of the raid.
