Mancherial: Four constables on court duties in different police stations were suspended following an alleged gap between traffic challans issued and the fine amounts collected between 2024 and 2026. Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Kumar Jha issued an order to this effect.
As per the order, the constables from Mancherial, Naspur, Chennur and Luxettipet police stations were suspended for allegedly committing irregularities in issuing challans against violators of roads safety norms during the past two years. The constables were assigned to perform court-related duties.
Meanwhile, memos were issued against 12 more constables who were reportedly involved in similar wrongdoing. The misappropriation came to the fore during an audit of traffic challans in Karimnagar district. A similar audit was carried out at police stations across Ramagundam Police Commissionerate, which unearthed the scandal.
