Four players share lead in juniors category at Brilliant chess tournament
Four players, including Jathin Reddy and Suraj Reddy, shared the lead in the juniors category of the 239th Brilliant Trophy chess tournament in Hyderabad. In the open category, seven players are jointly leading after three rounds of competition

Hyderabad: Four players Jathin Reddy, Rithwik, Suraj Reddy and Vikhyath Thallapally shared lead with three points each from three rounds in the juniors category of the 239th Brilliant Trophy chess tournament at Brilliant Grammar High School (Dilsukhnagar) here on Saturday.
Shaurya Mishra, Yashas and Anish Devalkar were in second spot with 2.5 points from three rounds.
In the open category, seven players — Mohammed Irfan, Perumallu, Rama Anjaneyulu, Kovidhkushal Reddy, Saratkumar Nanda, Jayaditya and Hemanth Seera — were in joint lead with three points each from three rounds.
Important results: 3rd round: Juniors: Sharan Shreyan (2) lost to Jathin Reddy (3); Shaurya Mishra (2.5) drew with Anish Devalkar (2.5); Suraj Reddy (3) bt Mithil Amor (2); Sushanth Ramuni (2) lost to B Rithwik (3); Sai Prashul (2) lost to Vikhyath Thallapally (3).
Open category: Basava Raghavendra (2) lost to Mohammed Irfan (3); Tanisha Khandelwal (2) lost to Perumallu (3); Rama Anjaneyulu (3) bt A Ravindranath (2); Kovidhkushal Reddy (3) bt Krishna Kalyan (2); Sarat Kumar Nanda (3) bt Sai Kiran (2).
