Free chicken haleem offer triggers stampede-like situation in Telangana’s Karimnagar

Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control

Karimnagar: Setting aside misconceptions about eating chicken, people competed among themselves to eat chicken haleem in Karimnagar town.

On the eve of Ramzan month that will start from Sunday, a private company conducted a chicken haleem mela in Jyothibha Phule grounds here on Saturday evening and distributed the dish free of cost.

Knowing about it, a huge number of people gathered at the place. Even as the situation turned quite dicey reaching the verge of a stampede, police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

The mela was conducted peacefully with the police keeping a watchful eye as people enjoyed the chicken haleem.
