Free chickens spark frenzy in Elkathurthi fields of Hanamkonda, video goes viral
Residents of Elkathurthi and nearby villages in Hanamkonda district were surprised on Saturday when hundreds of chickens were mysteriously released in agricultural fields along the Elkathurthi–Siddipet highway. Villagers rushed to catch the birds, with some posing for photos and others quietly bagging their catch.
Hanamkonda: Residents of Elkathurthi and surrounding villages in Elkathurthi mandal on Saturday had an unexpected windfall in the form of free chickens.
It is said that some unknown persons left hundreds of chickens in agriculture fields along the Elkathurthi-Siddipet national highway. As the news reached the villagers they rushed to the fields chasing chickens to catch as many as possible for a hearty chicken meal.
The fields soon filled up with villagers. Those who caught the chickens posed for pictures expressing their joy at their fortune while the others stuffed them in bags and left silently. According to the locals, some strangers who came in a DCM van left the chickens in the fields.
It is not known why the strangers left the chickens in the fields. A video clip of the incident went viral on social media attracting funny comments from netizens.
