Rajanna-Sircilla: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister, Gangula Kamalakar came down heavily on BJP activists for attacking the house of TRS district president Thota Agaiah. The BJP leaders were trying to practice the tactic of attacking political opponents, as they did in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Bihar states, the Minister alleged.
The minsiter said the TRS party would stand by its party workers. There was no question of tolerating such behaviour by the BJP leaders and workers, he warned. Kamalakar on Saturday visited Yellareddypet and called on the TRS district president.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the some BJP leaders who were frustrated with their party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s leadership had joined the TRS party in the presence of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao. Unable to digest it, BJP workers were resorting to attacks on TRS cadres.
A post uploaded on social media by a BJP worker was more objectionable. When TRS activists approached the police to lodge a complaint, BJP workers attacked ruling party activists with the support of Sanjay Kumar and local party leader Katakam Mruthunjayam, the Minister informed.
