Gangula lauds MP Santhosh Kumar for feeding the needy during lockdown
The Minister was speaking after participating in the free meal distribution programme organised by Santhosh Kumar at agriculture market yard on Thursday
Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar appreciated Rajya Sabha MP Joginipalli Santhosh Kumar for helping the needy by providing free meals to hamalies and daily wage labourers regularly.
The Minister was speaking after participating in the free meal distribution programme organised by Santhosh Kumar at agriculture market yard on Thursday. He distributed food to hamalies and labourers.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar said hamalies, daily wage labourers and attendants of patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals were having a tough time with food due to the lockdown. “Santosh Kumar’s initiative is a boon for such people,” he said, and promised to continue with the free meal distribution programme till the end of lockdown.
Earlier, Karmalakar participated in Annadana (food provision) programme held at the district headquarters bus stand. The Minister said besides daily wage labourers, passengers who were stranded in the bus stand due to lack of bus services during the lockdown, were also facing trouble finding food.
To help such people, free food is being distributed at the bus stand regularly. Drivers, conductors, hamalies, daily wage labourers as well as passengers are being provided food at the bus stand every day. He felicitated corporator Guggilla Jayasree Srinivas for organising free meal distribution programme.
Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao, Agriculture Market Committee Chairperson Eluka Anitha, corporators Bonala Srikanth, Y Rajender Rao and others participated in the programme.
