Hyderabad: It is that time of the year again, when thousands of final year students gear up for job/internship interviews. While your academic score can get you shortlisted for the interview, your success in securing a job depends a great deal on how you prepare for it.
Preparation ahead of time will help you keep it together and perform at your very best. So, start with researching the organisation. Delve deeper about the company’s recent projects, their clients and who will be interviewing you. This will help you align your CV according to the company’s requirements. Showing that you have a good knowledge of the company you want to work for will for sure earn you those extra brownie points from the interviewer.
Secondly, prepare a list of expected interview questions. Going through the job description and the skills required for the role should give you a steer on what kind of questions could be asked about your abilities and experience. Prepare impressive responses to questions that give you an opportunity to highlight your skills and interest in the job. You can also ask a family member or friend to conduct a mock interview for you. This can create a real interview-like environment and help boost your confidence.
An important point to keep in mind is to plan what you want to wear for the interview in advance. Choose a formal dress that you would be wearing for the interview. Make sure the clothes are clean and wrinkle-free. Go for a neat and clean look with well-cut hair and shaved or trimmed beard.
Lastly, do not forget to organise all your educational, professional and other documents before going for the interview. Put all the important documents including your mark sheets, certificates, ID proofs and photographs in a folder. If the HR has asked you to bring any particular document be sure to keep that ready as well.
