GHMC clears 5,209 metric tonnes of waste in 15-day sanitation drive
The GHMC has completed a 15-day sanitation programme across 300 wards, covering 3,209 areas including junctions, foot overbridges, flyovers, garbage-vulnerable points and parks. Officials reported the removal of 5,209 metric tons of additional waste, including 1,339 metric tonnes of construction debris.

Hyderabad: Over 15 days, a special sanitation programme was carried out in 3,209 areas, including points, foot over bridges, flyovers, garbage vulnerable points and parks, across 300 wards under the GHMC jurisdiction.
Officials said in a statement on Saturday that an additional 3,870 metric tons of waste and 1,339 construction waste, totalling 5,209 metric tons of extra waste, was removed so far.
A special focus was placed on garbage vulnerable points, with the drive continuing on Saturday. Along with cleaning, these points were beautified with decorative designs, the statement stated.
