GHMC panel approves renaming of Bathukamma Kunta Park
The GHMC Standing Committee approved renaming Bathukamma Kunta Park after former MP V Hanumantha Rao and cleared several civic proposals, including flyovers, a community health centre, road naming and restoration works, with some proposals forwarded for Council approval.

Hyderabad: The GHMC Standing Committee on Thursday approved the renaming of Bathukamma Kunta Park at Amberpet as V Hanumantha Rao Bathukamma Kunta, after a senior Congress leader and former MP.
The decision was taken at a Standing Committee meeting chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and attended by GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and all heads of departments.
Proposals for the installation of a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Barkatpura Junction and for naming the road near the Bairamalguda flyover after Vanga Madhusudhan Reddy were recommended for Council approval.
The committee also approved a no-objection certificate for the construction of a 50-bed Community Health Centre in Yakutpura SRT Colony and restoration works of the Moula Ali ROB. A proposal seeking RDP approval for the construction of a six-lane flyover with a 60-metre-wide road from Bairamalguda Junction to Owaisi Junction was also considered.
The Standing Committee further considered proposals for administrative approval for the construction of a one-way flyover at NFCL Junction and an underpass and flyover at TV 9 Junction for tendering.
