GHMC to hold Project Udvasana in six zones on June 27
GHMC has extended Project Udvasana, a divine waste collection initiative, to all six zones of the city. Citizens can deposit old deity photographs, idols and other worshipped items at designated locations on June 27 in an environmentally responsible manner.

Hyderabad: Project Udvasana, a divine waste collection drive, has now been extended to all six zones, including Secunderabad, Charminar, Rajendra Nagar, Shamshabad, Khairatabad and Golconda in the GHMC jurisdiction, according to a press release.
The GHMC initiative provides citizens with a dignified, environmentally responsible and organised mechanism to retire worshipped sacred items that have completed their journey of worship.
The divine waste collection drive will be held on June 27 at Bhu Lakshmi Mandir in Charminar Zone, Shiva Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Secunderabad Zone, Sri Venkateswara Temple, Hari Hari Kshetram in Rajendra Nagar Zone, Sri Dharm Sai Mandir in Shamshabad Zone, Sri Sri Sri Mahankali Pochamma Devalayam in Khairatabad Zone, and Sri Vishwa Anjaneya Bhaktha Samajam Temple Trust in Golconda Zone.
The collection of sacred items will start at 8.30 am and conclude at 11 am. No items will be accepted after 11 am, and citizens may bring old deity photographs, damaged pooja frames, idols, calendars and other worshipped sacred items from their homes, the press release said.
GHMC aims to ensure that devotion is handled with dignity while contributing towards a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Hyderabad, it added.
