Girl critically injured after suicide attempt from Mancherial hostel building
A second-year BSc student from a girls’ welfare college in Mancherial is in critical condition after jumping from her hostel’s third floor in a suspected suicide attempt. Police are probing the incident, and the motive is yet to be known.
Mancherial: A second-year BSc (BZC) student of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Girls in Mancherial sustained critical injuries after she allegedly attempted to die by suicide by jumping from the third floor of her hostel building late on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred around 11 pm. The girl, identified as Kummari Swapna, reportedly left her room on the pretext of using the washroom before taking the extreme step. She is the daughter of Laxman from Bejjur mandal in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district.
Police said Swapna suffered serious injuries in the fall and was first rushed to a hospital in Mancherial. As her condition worsened, she was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment.
The reason behind her suicide attempt is yet to be ascertained. Police are investigating the incident. Further details are awaited.
