Siddipet: The suicide by a 17-year-old girl, who was found hanging at her residence at Gundannapally under Gajwel-Pragnapur Municipality limits on Thursday night, has sparked a controversy with her parents and relatives alleging that the constant harassment by youth from the same village made her take the extreme step.
The deceased was identified as Yella Sangeetha (17), studying intermediate first year in a junior college in Gajwel town. The parents of the girl alleged that Salla Srikanth used to harass her and force Sangeetha to accept his love.
On Friday, the parents, kin, and her college students organised a protest demanding action against Srikanth who is absconding. The Gajwel Police have registered a case and investigation is on.
