Mancherial: One person was arrested by sleuths of Ramagundam task force for allegedly selling prohibited herbicide, glyphosate, in Mandamarri on Thursday. As many as 200 packets worth Rs 2 lakh were recovered from him.
Task Force Inspector AK Mahender said the accused was Puttaganti Pavan Kumar, a resident of Buradagudem village in Mandamarri mandal.
Pavan Kumar had hidden the banned glyphosate packetes in bushes on the outskirts of Oru Mandamarri. He confessed to procuring the herbicide from Chandrapur of Maharashtra. He admitted to selling it to farmers in different parts of Mandamarri mandal and neighboring Nennal and Kasipet mandals.
