Government giving priority to urban development: Puvvada
Speaking after inaugurating a newly laid cement concrete road in Chaitanya Nagar here, he said the government had sanctioned huge funds for Khammam city development.
Minister P Ajay Kumar addressed residents in many colonies in Khammam on Wednesday creating awareness about non-agriculture assets survey.
Khammam: The State government was according priority to infrastructure development in urban areas, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said on Wednesday.
Speaking after inaugurating a newly laid cement concrete road in Chaitanya Nagar here, he said the government had sanctioned huge funds for Khammam city development.
Construction of cement concrete (CC) roads in all municipal divisions, drainage works, central lighting, Mission Bhagiratha and several other works were taken up in Khammam. New RTC bus stand, Municipal Corporation office, Gollapadu channel and other works under progress.
It was proposed to establish a public park with an open gym in each municipal division in Khammam for the benefit of the citizens. Parks at Lakaram tank bund, mini-Lakaram tank bund and Velugumatla have already been developed, Ajay Kumar noted.
The minister along with the Mayor G Papalal, SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar, District Collector RV Karnan and Municipal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi inspected development works at Venugopal Nagar where five kilometre long NSP bund beautification works were under progress with Rs 2.30 crore.
He instructed the officials to speed up the works related to walking track, fencing, plantation to ensure greenery and street lighting to develop the bund as a mini-park. The place would help the locals to spend their leisure time and to engage in physical exercise.
Ajay Kumar visited Sambani Nagar, Girakalabavi Centre, Kotha Colony, Ambedkar Nagar, Venugopal Nagar, Burahanpuram, Sriram Nagar, Saritha clinic centre in the city on the day and interacted with the locals creating awareness among them about non-agricultural assets survey.
He said the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao who brought out new Revenue Acts to address discrepancies in land records and to protect the lands of farmers, poor and suppressed sections also wanted to protect non-agriculture properties.
For the first time in the country, every piece of land would be surveyed and digitised to preserve the data online. Digitalisation of land records would help to resolve land disputes. The non-agricultural assets survey was aimed to feed the data onto Dharani portal.
The government through land records purification had issued pattadar passbooks to nearly 57 lakh farmers. Similarly maroon colour passbooks would be issued to non-agriculture properties, Ajay Kumar said and urged the public to give required information to survey teams.
