Govt healthcare system getting strengthened in Telangana: Satyavathi

Mulugu: The State government under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is striving to strengthen the government healthcare system by upgrading the hospitals, providing additional facilities and diagnostic centres besides its plans to set up medical and nursing colleges, said Tribal, Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod.
Speaking after inaugurating the Telangana Diagnostic Centre established at a cost of nearly Rs 3 crore at the government area hospital here, she said that strengthening of government medical and health system would be a boon to the poor people. “The government has set up 19 diagnostic centres in the State for benefit to the poor. The government is going to spend Rs 10,000 crore in addition to the allocations made in the budget to the medical and health sector in the State,” she said, and thanked the Chief Minister for selecting the Mulugu district as a pilot project along with Rajanna Siricilla to prepare the ‘health profile’ of the people in the State.
“While a total of 57 tests are being done at this diagnostic centre, soon all heart related tests will also be available at this centre,” Satyavathi said and added that the spread of the novel coronavirus had been contained due to concerted efforts of the State government. She also appreciated District Collector S Krishna Aditya, District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr Allam Appaiah and other officials for their efforts to check the spread of the COVID-19 in the district.
Mahabubabad MP Maloth Kavitha said that establishment of the T-Diagnostic Centre in district is a great boon for the people, who are mainly the tribals. Meanwhile, Zilla Parishad Chairman Kusuma Jagadeesh, MP Kavitha, Minister Satyavthi Rathod and other ruling party leaders have performed ‘Ksheerabhishekam’ to the portrait of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at a programme held at Gattamma Temple near here for selecting the Mulugu district for preparation of the health profile.
