Govt school teacher fined Rs 20K for felling tree in Siddipet
Donthireddy Narasimha Reddy, a resident of Maha Sakthi Nagar in the town, felled a four year old Gulmohar tree which was planted under Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH)
Siddipet: Siddipet Municipal officials have imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on a government teacher for felling a tree without obtaining permission. Commissioner of Siddipet Municipality KV Ramana Chary also directed the teacher to plant 50 saplings besides taking up the responsibility of their protection as compensation for felling the tree.
Donthireddy Narasimha Reddy, a resident of Maha Sakthi Nagar in the town, felled a four year old Gulmohar tree which was planted under Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH). Haritha Haram officer Samala Ilaiah, who received a complaint about the illegal felling of tree, imposed the fine. When Ilaiah took the issue to the notice of the Commissioner, he directed the teacher to also plant 50 saplings.
