Govt will procure damaged paddy as well, says TSCAB Chairman

Ravinder Rao visited the procurement centres in Yellareddypet and Sircilla mandals to assess the procurement of farm produce during the lockdown period

Rajanna Sircilla: Chairman,Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank (TSCAB) Konduru Ravinder Rao on Wednesday assured the farming community that the State government was committed to procure the last grain from the farmers at minimum support price.

Ravinder Rao visited the procurement centres in Yellareddypet and Sircilla mandals to assess the procurement of farm produce during the lockdown period.


Interacting with the farmers, he said the government will also procure paddy which was damaged in the recent untimely rains. He instructed the authorities to provide adequate quantities of tarpaulins to the farmers to protect the produce from the possible unseasonal rains.

He also directed the authorities to ensure that there was no shortage of vehicles for the transportation of paddy produce to the rice mills. He also informed the officials to deploy more labourers for the loading and unloading of the paddy.

ZPTC member Ch Laxman Rao, Agriculture Market committee chairman K Ramesh Goud, Single window chairman G Krishna Reddy and others were also present.

Earlier, Ravinder Rao handed over Pradhan Manthri Jeevan Jyothi Bhima Yojana (PMJJBY) insurance cheque (Rs 2 lakh) to the family members of the late Bojja Vajravva (45) in Boinpalli mandal.
