GP Workers’ Union leader dies of heart attack while leading protest in Peddapalli
A native of Dongathurthi village, Rajaiah was actively participating in a rally and protest demonstration held as part of the nationwide workers’ strike.

Peddapalli: A gram panchayat worker and mandal president of the GP Workers’ Union, Akula Rajaiah (60), died of a heart attack while leading a protest in Dharmaram mandal on Wednesday.
A native of Dongathurthi village, Rajaiah was actively participating in a rally and protest demonstration held as part of the nationwide workers’ strike. As the mandal-level president, he led the protest and submitted a representation to the Deputy Tahsildar.
Shortly after handing over the representation, Rajaiah collapsed within the office premises. Fellow gram panchayat (GPs) workers, who were present, immediately shifted him to a private hospital in Dharmaram. He was later referred to a hospital in Karimnagar, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Doctors confirmed that he died of a heart attack, GP workers said.
