Hyderabad: Citing CPI (ML) senior leader and former MLA Gummadi Narsaiah’s long wait in front the Chief Minister’s residence to meet him, CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said there were some communication lapses and appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to fix them.
The Chief Minister, while replying to the CPI MLA in the Assembly on Saturday, said Narsaiah was a senior former legislator and that he would never ignore any former public representatives. In case of any lapses, efforts would be made to rectify them, he assured. Narsaiah wanted to meet the Chief Minister and had gone to his residence last month. However, despite waiting for a long time on the road outside the Chief Minister’s residence, the former MLA could not meet him. After Sambasiva Rao raised the issue in the House, the Chief Minister clarified that the former MLA was standing on the other side of the road and that too far from his residence. One youngster was capturing the video and they did not even come close to his residence, he said.
“The same evening, my peshi contacted Narsaiah over phone and asked him to come the next day morning for a meeting. Narsaiah said he would meet me when he visits Hyderabad the next time,” Revanth Reddy said, adding that he was available to meet elected public representatives at the Secretariat from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Those willing to meet him could take an appointment one day in advance but none was following the system, he said.
“Leaders are visiting my house early in the day and insisting to meet. At times, they visit even when I am brushing the teeth. These are some difficulties in handling these sudden meetings,” Revanth Reddy said.
