H-NEW busts inter-state drug racket, two arrested in Hyderabad
H-NEW and Hussainialam police busted an inter-state drug trafficking network and arrested two alleged traffickers in Hyderabad. Police seized hydroponic cannabis, cocaine, LSD blots, mobile phones and a car, while efforts are underway to trace the absconding supplier.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), in coordination with the Hussainialam police, busted an inter-state drug trafficking network and arrested two persons, including a local drug peddler and a drug transporter.
The police seized 120 grams of OG (hydroponic cannabis), 5 grams of cocaine, 27 LSD blots, two mobile phones, and a Maruti Suzuki Baleno car (TG12-8766) used for transporting the contraband.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammed Saif (31), a resident of Babri Alawa, Charminar, and Sameer Babubhai Waghela (25), a resident of Kurla West, Mumbai.
According to the police, Saif allegedly procured the narcotic substances from a Mumbai-based supplier, identified as Aditya, through Sameer, who acted as the transporter. After receiving the consignments in Hyderabad, Saif allegedly distributed the drugs to consumers through his local network and earned huge illegal profits.
“Saif was allegedly drug trafficking and also addicted to consuming OG, cocaine and LSD. Sameer allegedly functioned as an intermediary, transporting narcotic consignments from Mumbai to Hyderabad on behalf of the absconding supplier,” said the officials.
Efforts are underway to trace Aditya and identify other members of the interstate drug trafficking network, the official added.
