Medak: Preliminary investigations by the police led to the belief that the district Congress SC Cell Secretary, Marelli Anil, was shot dead by some unidentified miscreants, who followed him in two separate cars.
They shot him while he was driving the car. Since he had a habit of driving the car with an open driver’s side window, police suspect that it made the killer’s job easy, as all four bullets pierced through his body from the right shoulder and chest.
Then, after he was shot, he lost control of the car, which veered off the road and slipped close to a roadside lake at Variguntham in Kulcharam mandal.
Police also suspect that it was the job of trained shooters since they did not miss the target, though both cars were moving.
Meanwhile, the police suspect that issues in the real estate business could have led to the murder. However, the family members said that Anil had no enmity with any person, politically or personally.
A huge number of Congress leaders and cadres arrived at the Medak government hospital, where the body was brought for postmortem. The probe is on.
