With the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department that undertook the construction of the Collectorate complexes across the State giving final touches to the 10 new complexes, its electrical wing is taking care of the crucial security and fire safety issues.
The well-ventilated ground-plus-two green buildings will house the Collector’s chamber apart from a meeting hall to accommodate over 300 people, a mini hall to convene meeting with over 60 officials and offices of various departments in the district, all in about 1.50 lakh sq ft.
“We have taken all aspects, including security and fire safety, into consideration before commencing the construction,” an official said, adding that all the civil works were completed while the electrical wing was toiling hard to install the security systems and fire equipment.
The surveillance cameras would be installed in consultation with the District Collector concerned as many people would be visiting the collectorate every day to air their grievances. Separate provisions were made for the fire equipment in each complex. Priority was accorded to ensure a proper approach road to facilitate fire tenders reach the complex without any hindrance in case of a fire accident.
Going Modern
R&B Engineer-in-Chief (Buildings) I Ganapathi Reddy said modern facilities were being provided at each complex apart from focusing on ventilation. With regard to the security system, a provision was also made to provide a link to the office of the district Superintendent of Police (SP) to keep a tab on those visiting the collectorate.
The 10 complexes, which are ready for inauguration, are in Siddipet, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Jagitial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Warangal, Jangaon, Peddapalli, Vikarabad and Medchal- Malkajgiri.
