Hyderabad: Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) launched a new home care brand Nature Protect, with a range of hygiene products infused with neem extract and naturally derived active ingredients. The products are being rolled out across the southern markets including Telangana.
Prabha Narasimhan, ED– Home Care, Unilever South Asia, Hindustan Unilever, said, “Consumers’ anxiety on hygiene has increased due to Covid, which led us to come out with a range of products that will address the raising concerns. Nature Protect combines the strengths of efficacy, safety and the use of naturally derived actives and infused with neem (anti-bacterial).”
The company has come out with a range of surface cleaning & laundry products, and fruit and vegetable cleaner. The market potential of surface cleaners in India is estimated at Rs 3,000 crore and HUL sees greater scope for penetration in the branded segment, she added.
Digital marketplace is opening up and the company is keen to tap both online and offline segments to drive sales for the products. Offline will however continue to contribute larger sales. She hinted that the company could explore more products in the disinfection space in the near future.
