Hyderabad: From regularisation of non-teaching and time-scale employees, equal pay for equal work, to justice for 47 faculty members whose CAS promotions were rejected by the University, the Osmania University Teaching and Non-Teaching Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) has put forwarded demands ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to OU campus on Wednesday.
In an open letter to Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, the JAC demanded implementation of the old pension scheme for faculty appointed before September 1, 2004, and CPS for employees appointed after September 1, 2004.
Apart from timely reviewing and implementing CAS promotions for regular teachers, the JAC wanted the State government regularise contract faculty and non-teaching contract employees who served the university for a long time.
The teachers demanded Revanth Reddy honour his promise of implementing UGC pay scale besides extending job security to the contract faculty. They also sought an upgrade of part-time faculty to assistant professor contract posts. Further, part-time faculty wanted weightage to their services as per GO 21.
