Hosting Formula-E in Hyderabad, one of most cherished decisions as Minister: KTR
"No amount of baseless cases, unfounded accusations, or political vendettas can diminish that sense of achievement," he stated firmly. He emphasized that Brand Hyderabad is always his top priority, and Formula-E has elevated Hyderabad to the global sporting arena. "It requires vision, dedication, and a true love for one’s city and state to grasp the importance of such initiatives," he added.
Hyderabad: BRS working president and former Minister KT Rama Rao reiterated that hosting Formula-E car race in Telangana especially Hyderabad remains one of his most cherished decisions as a Minister. He stated that the widespread acclaim for Hyderabad from international racers and E-Mobility industry leaders, was memorable and made him proud.
“No amount of frivolous cases, cheap mudslinging, or political witch-hunting can erase that sense of accomplishment,” he asserted. He declared that Brand Hyderabad always remains paramount for him and Formula-E elevated Hydearbad on the international sporting stage. “It takes vision, passion, and genuine love for one’s city and State to understand the significance of such initiatives,” he added.
Ahead of his visit to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad for questioning in the Formula-E race case, Rama Rao took to X to set the record straight on allegations of corruption and financial irregularities. He explained that Rs 46 crore was paid transparently to Formula-E Operations Limited (FEO) through a bank-to-bank transaction. “Not a single rupee was misappropriated and every rupee is accounted for. Where is the alleged corruption, misappropriation, or money laundering?” he questioned, calling the accusations baseless.
The former Municipal Administration Minister went on to criticise Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for the latter’s shortsightedness and thoughtless unilateral decision to cancel the second year of the event which has caused significant financial losses to the exchequer and tarnished Hyderabad’s global reputation. He reiterated that there is no wrongdoing, but driven by malice and political vendetta, the Congress government is hell-bent on dragging the well-documented events through the courts and investigating agencies.
“I am confident that the truth will soon be revealed for all to see, including the honourable courts. Until then, we’ll continue to fight for justice,” he added.
