Huzurabad: Huzurabad by-election General Observer Muthu Krishnan Shankar Narayana on Monday instructed the micro-observers to follow the polling process closely. Shankar Narayan along with District Collector RV Karnan attended the training programme held for micro observers at SRR Degree and PG College here.
Speaking on the occasion, he wanted micro observers to give instructions to polling staff on the day of the by-election scheduled on October 30. They should take steps to conduct mock polling at 6 am. After mock polling, the slips from VVPATs should be removed and sealed, he said.
He wanted micro observers to alert higher officials if any untoward incidents take place at polling stations. After completion of polling, they should certify the closure of the control unit button. Micro observers should report at the Huzurabad distribution center at 4 pm on October 29. They along with polling staff should submit EVMs at SRR College reception center after completion of polling.
Polling staff must follow Covid norms by wearing face masks, washing hands frequently and maintaining physical distance. Assistant Collector Mayank Mittal, micro observers’ nodal officer Rambabu, training in-charge B Ravinder, RDO Anand Kumar and others participated in the training programme.
