Hyderabad: 26 cases registered over illegal extraction, transportation of sand

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police in last one week registered 26 cases in connection to the alleged illegal extraction and transportation of sand across the city. The police seized 8 vehicles, 1196 tonnes of sand and arrested 57 persons.
City Police Commissioner, CV Anand said a special operation was carried out by the police teams as part of the efforts of the State government to combat illegal sand mining and transportation.
C V Anand said the Hyderabad police will continue to take stringent action against illegal activities including unauthorized sand transportation. He requested the people to inform about any suspicious activities at the local police station.
