Hyderabad: The ACB court in Hyderabad on Tuesday convicted and sentenced Chakrahari Srinivas Raju, former Tahsildar of Thirumalagiri mandal in Nalgonda district, to one year of rigorous imprisonment for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a person for official work. The court also imposed a fine on him.
Srinivas Raju, while working as Tahsildar of Thirumalagiri mandal in 2011, had demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a man for mutation of his agricultural lands in revenue records and to issue pattadar passbooks.
He was caught red-handed by the ACB after a complaint was made against him. After the trial, the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases court in Hyderabad sentenced him. He was shifted to prison.
