Amberpet Flyover allowed for public use in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The 1.7 km Amberpet flyover, developed at a cost of Rs 338 crore connecting the busy section of Golnaka and Amberpet was opened for traffic on Wednesday. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who inspected the flyover on Tuesday, had asked the authorities to open the flyover for commuters.
While the flyover civic works were completed, a few related works like service roads, improvement of greenery and beautification works were pending. The Union Minister directed authorities to open the facility on the auspicious occasion of Shivaratri instead of waiting for the minor works to be completed.
The foundation stone for Amberpet flyover was laid in 2018 by Union Transport and Highways Minster, Nitin Gadkari. The construction of the Amberpet flyover, however, was hit by multiple delays due to several technical difficulties.
Kishan Reddy during his inspection also hoped that the Amberpet flyover will bring much needed respite to commuters on the busy Golnaka stretch, which witnesses dense traffic and massive traffic jams on a daily basis.
