Hyderabad: Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals, LB Nagar, organised a ‘5K Cycle Rally’ on the occasion of the World Kidney Day on Wednesday to spread awareness on precautions on kidney health. Doctors, nurses and other medical and non-clinical staff participated in the cycle rally, which was flagged-off by LB Nagar MLA, Sudheer Reddy.
“About 60 to 70 percent of kidney diseases are prevented by taking early precautions. In this competitive world, young people do not even have the awareness of how much damage is caused by BP due to stress and not taking care of health,” Reddy said.
Dr Mervin Leo, COO, Aware Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Dr Sridhar, Head, Department of Nephrology, Dr Sandeep, Dr Isaac, former corporator M Srinivasa Rao and others participated in the cycle rally.
5K run by AINU on Sunday
To raise awareness among the healthcare providers, patients and caretakers on the crucial aspect of ‘Living Well with Kidney Disease’, Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU) is organising a 5K run from 6 am on March 14.
About 250 participants including healthcare workers and non-clinical staff from the hospital will be participating in the 5K run, which will be flagged-off by Director-General of Police, M Mahender Reddy. For details: 9704403988.
