Hyderabad: Dumping or disposal of Construction & Demolition (C&D) waste in open areas, roadsides, drains, nalas, water bodies, or public places within Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) limits has been strictly prohibited and would attract penal action.
A government order issued on Friday observed that indiscriminate dumping of C&D waste continued within GHMC, CMC, and MMC areas, resulting in environmental degradation, blockage of drains and nalas, and increased risk of urban flooding. It sought to ensure strict and immediate compliance with the provisions of the C&D Waste Management Rules, 2025.
Every waste generator would be fully responsible for the collection, segregation, storage, transportation, processing, disposal, and utilization of C&D waste in an environmentally sound manner and all C&D waste shall be transported while disposal at unauthorized locations shall be treated as a violation, according to the orders.
