Founded by Sircilla-born Parshuram Paka, the company has worked on making this electric two-wheeler since 2016. The vehicle comes with 3 kWh Li-ion detachable battery and swap-friendly chassis that can accommodate two batteries, offering the rider a 320 km travel range. The top speed of the vehicle is 70 kmph and is suitable for countryside and rough terrain as well.
“I hail from a farmer’s family and in my village, people had to travel long distances in order to fill petrol in their vehicles. This kind of sowed the seeds of developing a two-wheeler EV. After working in the US for a while, I returned to start my own business in the EV space. All the components of the vehicle are designed in-house and we have outsourced the manufacturing to Indian companies. Through funding from family and friends, we have invested about $1 million in R&D and manufacturing so far,” said Paka.
The current production capacity is at 2,000 vehicles per month and the company is hopeful of selling 5,000 vehicles by the end of 2021. It also plans to set up its battery swapping infrastructure at metro stations. While the battery comes with a three years warranty, the bike itself has 15 years longevity. In terms of dealership, it plans to have four showrooms in Hyderabad and plans to start delivering the bike by October.
