Hyderabad battered by 184.5 mm rainfall on Wednesday night; Intense downpour recorded in Musheerabad
Hyderabad witnessed intense rainfall on Wednesday night, with Musheerabad recording the highest at 18.4 cm. Data from TGDPS revealed that 26 locations, primarily in Secunderabad, received very heavy rainfall. Serilingampally and other north-western areas also saw significant downpour.

Hyderabad: The heavy rains that lashed the city on Wednesday were intense and continued through the night in most places with Musheerabad recording 18.4 cm of rainfall.
Based on the rainfall data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), four locations in Musheerabad were pummeled with intense rainfall ranging from 18.4 cm to 14.7 cm, which is categorised as very heavy rainfall by Indian Meteorological Department-Hyderabad (IMD-H). Overall, 26 different locations in the city, a majority of them in the core Secunderabad region, received very heavy rainfall ranging from 10.2 cm to 18.4 cm.
In Musheerabad, an intense downpour was recorded at Tallabasthi community hall area (18.4 cm), MCH Colony library Building area (17.4 cm), Bholapkur community hall (15.5 cm) and Chilkaluda (14.7 cm) of rainfall.
Monda Market received 14.6 cm of rainfall, while areas in and around New Mettuguda Primary School, under Marredpally received 14.0 cm followed by Jawaharnagar community hall area which recorded 13.6 cm of rainfall.
Apart from Secunderabad, the north-western parts of Hyderabad also witnessed intense spells of downpour. University of Hyderabad in Serilingampally witnessed 14.4 cm of rainfall, JPN Nagar Community Hall, Miyapur witnessed 13.0 cm, MMTS Lingampally received 13 cm of rainfall.
