Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta police solved the case of Hamed Bin Ali Zubedi (47), a NRI businessman, who was brutally killed in broad daylight at Hashamabad on Wednesday, and arrested four persons in connection with the case on Friday. A previous enmity led to the murder, police said.

The arrested persons are Rayees Jabri (23), Adil Jabri (32), Syeed Saleh Jabri (29) and Saad Bin Saleh Jabri (34), all from Chandrayangutta.

According to the police, Zubedi, who was a permanent resident of Dubai, was currently living at Salala in Barkas and previously was working with Jabri in Dubai. In 2019, while Jabri was returning to India, Zubedi handed over a bag containing gold, without informing him.

Jabri was arrested by the Central Excise and Customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad along with the smuggled gold weighing one kg. His passport too was seized.

“At that time, Zubedi promised Jabri and his family that he will provide employment to him and also take care of the case booked against him and further get released the passport. But even after three years, neither did he get the passport released nor provide employment or any help. He refused to help in the smuggling case,” said Gajarao Bhupal, DCP, South Zone.

During this, on Wednesday morning, the suspects went to the victim’s house and confronted him about the promised help. However, he refused to help in any manner whatsoever.

Feeling humiliated, they decided to kill Zubedi. Accordingly, on the same day evening, they waylaid and stopped Zubedi’s car at Hashamabad main road and stabbed him with knives. He suffered grievous injuries and died.

Two bikes, two knives and four mobile phones were seized from them. They were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
