Hyderabad: Consumers expressed annoyance at the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) closing complaints registered through the Metro Customer Care (MCC) without them being resolved.
A consumer, Praveen, a resident of Boduppal, complained to the water board through MCC about low pressure in the water supply and shared the complaint numbers with dates.
The complaint (ticket number 5685) was lodged on June 6, followed by ticket number 3657 on April 9, 5925 on March 7, 6013 on February 3, and 4645 on July 1, all raising low-pressure water supply issues in the area.
Praveen said, “For several months, I have faced persistently low water pressure at my residence in Boduppal. I have raised multiple official complaints with HMWSSB through their metro customer care helpline and grievance portal. In each instance, my tickets were marked as ‘resolved’ by the HMWSSB, without any technician visiting, any line inspection being carried out, or the actual problem being fixed.”
With their grievance closed unaddressed, the complainants are left without recourse. “I have escalated the matter through social media, and have issued a formal consumer court escalation notice as the next step,” he said.
When contacted, HMWSSB general manager Santosh Kumar said the low pressure in Boduppal has been continuing for the past several months and cited high water usage as the reason for this area getting low pressure.
