Hyderabad: Heavy rains lashing the city have resulted in several colonies being inundated with floodwater and damaging scores of vehicles.

From major roads to internal colony roads, most stretches had severe waterlogging issues from the heavy downpour on Wednesday night. The low-lying areas were more affected by the water gushing in and taking over the road networks.

Vehicles were left stranded with cars pulled to a side on the roads and left there, seen on several road stretches, while two-wheelers being dragged desperately by motorists was a more common sight yesterday night.

On Thursday, roads in Begumpet, Domalguda, Musheerabad, Padma Rao Nagar, Tarnaka, Dilsukhanagar, Khairatabad, Sriram Nagar, Rasoolpura, Seethar Nagar in Secunderabad Cantonment, Miyapur, Nizampet, and Yousufguda remained under sheets of rainwater.

Also, the overflow from nalas led to inundation of nearby colonies. In Ameerpet, desilting from ongoing stormwater drain works added to the misery of road users. The Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) posted several videos of the inundation of the colonies within their social media groups.
