Hyderabad: The Narayanguda police arrested a four-member gang in connection with the attempt to murder case of a lawyer here on Wednesday. Police seized one countrymade pistol, two daggers, seven live ammunition rounds and other materials from them. A financial dispute led to the attack, police said.
The arrested persons were Ghanshyam Balaji Singh, Mohd Wali, Mohd Waseem Ansari and Shaik Suleman. Police said Balaji Singh, who is into selling vintage cars was the client of Sidharth Singh Chowdhary in two civil suits since a decade. Recently, Chowdhary sought help from Balaji in seeking a suitable party to sell his land at Upparpally in Attapur.
“Balaji had invested nearly Rs 60,000 of his own money in developing the land. He introduced a party to Chowdhary expecting a commission around Rs 12 lakh. But, Chowdhary had sealed the deal without informing Balaji,” said P Vishwa Prasad, DCP Central Zone, adding that angered by this, Balaji decided to eliminate Chowdhary with the help of his associates.
On February 16, Mohd Wali and Waseem, wearing masks, barged into the office with weapons and threatened and assaulted Chowdhary, who managed to push them aside and escape.
