Hyderabad: The Ganesh procession from the old city is yet to start with the organizers still busy decorating the trucks that are to carry the Ganesh idols.
Although the police asked the organizers to start early and complete the immersion before dusk, the latter seem to be in no mood to start anywhere soon.
It is expected the procession will commence only in the afternoon. A handful of small idols moved across the Charminar in the morning.
The Balapur Ganesh is expected to cross the Charminar monument only after 1 pm.
The Hyderabad police have made elaborate security arrangements by deploying around 29,000 police personnel for smooth conduct of the procession. Senior officials are monitoring the procession from the command and control centre at the ICCC Building at Banjara Hills.
The anti sabotage teams conducted checks at important places in the city and the procession route was scanned.
